Grand Hotel du Golfe

Set between Collioure and Angeles-sur-mer, the GHG appears to have been designed with one purpose in mind: to keep its gaze fixed firmly on the Mediterranean. Behind its graphic lines and sun-drenched atmosphere lies a family story. That of a 1970’s style hotel completely reimagined.

Rather than erasing the past, the renovation celebrates it. The spirit of the seventies remains present through warm colors, carefully selected pieces of furniture, balanced by a cleaner, more contemporary approach. Natural materials, minimalist lines and mineral tonescreate a luminous interior deeply connected to the mediterranean landscape. The result feels effortless : a characterful retreat where seventies nostalgia meets understated modern elegance.

Inside the rooms, every detail extends this calm and considered aesthetic. Typology skincare products, with the minimalist bottles and essential formulas, blend seamlessly into the hotel’s visual world. Nothing feels excessive; everything has been chosen to create a sense of harmony and serenity.

Breakfast can be enjoyed indoors or outside on the terrace, always accompanied by a spectacular view over the sea. One that could easily belong to an episode of White Lotus. The buffet celebrates the flavors of the region through fresh, locally sourced produce, alongside a generous selection of homemade cakes. A wonderful unhurried way to begin the day, with the Mediterranean stretching towards the horizon.

The pool offers a quieter expression of the hotel’s Mediterranean spirit. Exceptionally refined and surrounded by lush greenery, it feels like a secluded retreat suspended between sky and landscape. From the water, the view stretches towards the Pyrenees, creating a striking contrast with the deep blue of the Mediterranean. It is an inviting place to slow down, swim a few lengths or simply settle into the calm, with the mountains rising majestically in the distance.

The family story continues in the glass with Jaume wines, produced from vineyards located just a few kilometers from the hotel. Generous and elegant local cuvées, best enjoyed as the afternoon slowly gives way to evening.

Perhaps this is when GHG reveals its true soul: overlooking the bay as the light begins to soften and the sky turns red. With a glass of Jaume in one hand, it becomes easy to loose track of time. A perfect expression of seventies joie de vivre, thoughtfully reimagined for today.
